The Centre de Bénévolat de la Rive-Sud (CBRS) honoured its volunteers during the National Volunteer Week (NVW), an annual event which took place April 18th – 24th, 2010.
All the volunteers were invited to participate in local recognition activities in each of the CBRS' 4 points of service.
Additionally, it's under the NVW “Volunteer for life” theme that the CBRS invited the volunteers that had accumulated 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of volunteering as part of the CBRS team, to a special event where recognition prizes were presented. On April 22nd, at the Canadian Railway Museum located in Saint-Constant, 31 volunteers were honoured for 5 years, 21 volunteers for 10 years, 9 volunteers for 15 years, 4 volunteers for 20 years and 2 volunteers for 25 years of volunteering commitment…
Can you imagine? 25 years, that is a quarter of a century… An enormous amount of volunteering hours!!! Mr. Pierre Fournier and Ms. Pauline Roy received a custom made watch for their 25 years of volunteering… A unique and exclusive gift for unique people!
Ms. Monique Lord, Ms. Sylvie Côté Castonguay, Mr. Raymond Bellavance and Mr. Jean-Jacques Langlois all received a beautiful framed lithography for 25 years of volunteering…
Knowing that each minute of volunteering is important, that each hour of volunteering can make a big difference in someone's life and to a non-profit organization like the CBRS, we can only admire the determination and dedication of all the volunteers that have accumulated 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of volunteering... WAY TO GO!!!
