Over the years, the S.S.V.C. has developed an expertise on matters related to volunteer management. The consulting services aim to share this expertise and to support organizations of the territory, so that they can provide an environment favouring quality volunteerism.
In each point of service point, an advisor, organisations is available to respond to any request for information on volunteer management. Depending on the complexity of the request, the advisory service can be offered by telephone or directly on site, at the local premises.
The diagnostic service, popular with organisations, allows managers to get a picture of their organisation of volunteer services and to obtain, at the same time, recommendations through a written report.
That report is usually given after an interview with the organization's representatives. The recommendations are established by using a diagnostic grid and the documents provided (annual report, general rules, welcome guide or the volunteers' tasks descriptions, etc.) by the representatives.
Additionally, we deliver the report with a letter addressed to the organization's Board of Directors. It is important to bring awareness to management on its role and responsibilities regarding its vulnerable clientele. In that regard, we include in the report a risk evaluation example for a position within the organization. Click here to view a sample report (in french).
Here is an example of the issues addressed in counselling:
